2014 Friedeman, Lancel Creek, Chardonnay
Lemon custard, dusted with cinnamon, on the nose; rich and creamy spiced apple on the palate, finishing with a refreshing acidity.
From the Lancel Creek Vineyard; located 5 miles from the Pacific Ocean, this remarkable 3 acre planting of Chardonnay is in a secluded red wood grove that sits above the fog line thereby receiving plentiful sunshine.
Harvested at an average 24.5 brix. Whole-cluster pressed directly to 40% new French oak barrels from Francois Freres and Seguin Moreau for fermentation and aging. Lees stirred weekly. Full malolactic fermentation, bottled unfined and unfiltered.
